Commercial

Advertising

What we sell, how it is labelled, and where the line sits between commercial and editorial.

Inventory

Pages carry display advertising at standard IAB sizes: leaderboard (728×90), MPU (300×250), half-page (300×600), billboard (970×250), and an in-article unit. Every slot is labelled and carries a data-ad-slot attribute for integration and measurement.

Labelling

Display advertising is visually separated from editorial content and marked as advertising. Sponsored articles, where they run, carry a label at the top of the page and in any listing where they appear, and they name the sponsor. We do not run commercial material that is designed to be mistaken for reporting.

Editorial independence

Buying advertising does not buy coverage, and it does not buy protection from coverage. Oureditorial policy sets out the separation in full.

What we do not accept

We decline advertising that is deceptive, that targets children, that promotes weapons or surveillance products aimed at private individuals, or that cannot be clearly attributed to an identifiable advertiser.

Reader data

The advertising units on this site are placeholder creatives rendered directly in the page. They are not served by an ad server, they are not personalised, and they set no cookies. If that changes, our privacy policy will be updated before it goes live and consent controls will be added where required.
